APC Back-UPS CS 350 compatible
Hi,
Just bought this and connected it up to the USB port on my ReadyNAS Duo.
Works perfectly - ReadyNAS reports time left, % charge, etc. Looks like I'll get about 70 minutes from it, just powering the ReadNAS.
One for the compatibility list maybe?

- kirkfreyAspirantI am looking at the pictures of this online and I don't see a USB port. Before I buy I'd like to see where it is...
- ahpsi1TutorUnfortunately APC chooses to use a cable (AP9827) that has a male RJ45 connector on one end and a USB type A male on the other. This may be to allow for other types of signaling however it mostly serves to be a source of revenue should you lose your cable. If you look on the diagram:
You would connect this cable to the 'data' port:
Hope that helps,
Bill - kirkfreyAspirantThis cable comes with new units? thanks this is exactly what I was looking for.
- rpdmallettAspirantHi,
Yes, the cable comes with it.
I should think that they use an RJ45 connector because it's a locking connector - making connection problems less likely.
My UPS is still working fine.
Richard - modeefAspirantAfter reading this thread, I also tried the APC Back-UPS CS 350 (with a ReadyNAS Ultra 2+), and it works fine -- immediately starting showing UPS as "Green" in the NAS admin pages. Just tried pulling the mains power, and the NAS reports it by email as down. Connected the mains again and it sends another email with it as up.
- EtzAspirantCan confirm, also works fine with ReadyNAS DUO v1 & Ultra 2
- ralfh73AspirantHere also: connected the CS350 with Datacable to ReadyNAS DUO. works !
- modeefAspirantA further status update. The mains here has been a bit up-again-down-again recently, and I can confirm that the ReadyNAS Ultra 2+ properly powers itself down after a period of operation on the UPS.
- peterkinGuideHappy to report success with this UPS and a ReadyNAS Duo V1, an RN102 and an ethernet switch linking them. Raidar tells me there are 58 runtime minutes available at full charge. In practice the NAS shut down at the 48 minute mark.
Just one question. I have the UPS plugged into my Duo via USB and the RN102 monitoring it over the network. This works fine, but it doesn't seem to work the other way round, i.e. with the UPS plugged into the USB port on the RN102. The RN102 doesn't appear to recognise the UPS.
Is this correct? The RN102 is running OS6.1.4. - modeefAspirantI don't know the RN102 nor the new OS versions... but... on the ReadyNAS there is an option "Enable network monitoring of attached UPS" to make the UPS status available to other devices. Is there something similar on the RN102 that you have to enable?
FWIW!
