APC UPS + Readynas Ultra + Synology?
Is there anyway to connect these devices together?
I currently have a ReadyNAs Ultra 2 and a synology DS211j. I'm planning to get an APC UPS with usb port. I'm assuming APC has only one usb port but both my servers support USB UPS monitoring.
What does Monitor UPS over SNMP mean on the frontview of the Ultra 2?
Also can I attach the synology to the UPS and the usb of the Ultra 2 to the Synology?
Thanks

- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredOne more thing that I should have mentioned is that you can even share the UPS with a PC if you wish. See Using the ReadyNAS to create a Network UPS for PCs
- PapaBear1ApprenticeWhat the Synology is asking for is the Network IP of the NAS that is connected to the UPS, not the UPS itself (it is not really part of the network). Once you connect the UPS to the Ultra it should show up in RAIDar, and mousing over the UPS button (now green) will show the status of the UPS charge.

So when setting this up, I assume that the router has to be plugged to the ups as well? - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredYes. Otherwise when the power goes out one NAS won't receive the alert to shutdown and will shutdown unsafely.
