Discs from Readynas Ultra 4 Plus to Ultra 6
Hello,
I Have Readynas ultra 4 plus(RAIDiator 4.2.28) with 4 disks but motherboard died I would like to get my data back so I bought Readynas Ultra 6 and want to put my disks from ultra 4 plus to ultra 6. My question is it will run without format and I will see all my data just like I will run mine old machine? Or I need to do some additional things to run it without any issues?
Thank you for your help

You can simply migrate the disks.
The only caveat is that if the Ultra-6 is running different firmware, then it will attempt to upgrade (or downgrade) the disks to match what's in its flash. If the firmware happens to be close that won't matter - but if it is very old, it could be a problem.
If you have a spare disk (not part of the array), you could try doing a factory reset on the ultra-6 with only that disk in place. Then install 4.2.28 firmware on the NAS. After that, power down, remove the spare, and migrate the disks.

Thank you StephenB,
is there any way how to check firmware ver. without insertink spare HDD? It will run if I will turn on NAS and go into Admin page?

The firmware version might show up briefly on the LCD if you boot diskless - worth a try anyway.
I don't think RAIDar will show it to you either (I think it just says "no disks"). But that's worth a try too.
Let us know if either does the trick.
