Duo power supply failure
The external PSU has failed after very little use, is this a common fault and should I replace it with a 3rd party one?
12V 5A Model DSA-60W-12 1 12060
It's a cheap Chinese one so probably can't be repaired.
Any suggestions for a reliable replacement?

- PapaBear1ApprenticeIf your Duo is still under warranty, open an on line tech support case. (I am assuming you are beyond the 90 day initial period and no longer have free telephone support) While not a common occurrence as far as I know, it can happen and is an easy item to replace since you don't even have to open the case.
Even if you are beyond the end of the warranty, they may direct you to where you can purchase one. I could not find one on the Netgear Store site. It should be there along with other minor parts people are always asking about (screws, trays for newer units, etc).
If they don't come back quickly, post back and we see if we can get a Jedi involved. - bobbyvAspirantThanks PapaBear (cool name), yes it's out of warranty, hardly used but that's besides the point I guess.
I've never been a fan of switched mode power supplies.
There's an open circuit across the AC input pins so I suspect it got too hot and melted a joint, just a guess.
I'll send an email to Netgear UK and see if they reply, failing that, I'll start Googling.
Like you say, it's can't be that common or this forum would have been full of it.
