hdd caddy

I dont get it. seriously, i do not get it. getting support from netgear is ridiculous. i call and i just get transferred and transferred and apprently according to the agent and according to this website my model number dont exsist. RNR-4C. There is zero info anywhere on any netgear webpage on how to install this hdd into the caddy, zero. every single YT video shows something different and does not apply. I tried my best but then when i went to take back out the hdd got stuck and the tray only came out. this has to be possibly the worst design thing ever by any company. it is just sad.

so how do i put the hdd drive into this stupidly made caddy?

  • You looked at the wrong sticker. There should be other stickers showing the model number which could be e.g. RR2304, RN2120, RN3130, RN3138 etc. (those are rackmount model numbers, I'm guessing you have a rackmount unit).

The model would also show in RAIDar or in the web admin page of the NAS.

You may need to use the drive tray screws with this 8TB disk. The layout of drives has changed so with some high capacity disks the toolless insert doesn't work like it does for smaller capacity disks.
