Is there a way to determine which drive goes in which slot?
I am wondering if there is a way, such as looking at the drive on a PC, to determine which slot the drive goes in?
The situation is that I had a RNX6 where the 4 drives were removed to fix something, but the order they go in got "mixed" up. Just installing them doesn't seem to allow things to come up.
Thanks,
Glenn

- labeling the disks is always a must when removing them from the bays of the chassis. If you have downloaded the logs before removing the disks that might help. In the zipped folder of system logs you will see disk smart text file, open the latest one of the one that has no date in the file name, that will show you all the info about the disks, the make, the SN, the size and which channel the disk is inserted.

Though I agree that labeling disks is the best approach. - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredWhat firmware were you running on the X6. If it is recent firmware then the order shouldn't matter but it is best to put the disks back in the right order.
If you download your logs and send them in (see the Sending Logs link in my sig) I may be able to determine the correct order.
