Mac Upload Issues
The server volume recently got corrupted. I reset the NAS to factory settings. It is now pristine, with 21TB of free space. Using 4 x 8GB drives, RAID 5. Firmware is 6.10.1. Using latest version of M...

Jun 28, 2019Hi jbenante, you wrote "A gigabyte file never completes the upload".
I'm not a mac-user, but as a workaround you could try uploading through the admin page/shares/browse. You can drag'n'drop the concerned file from the mac's filebrowser to the bottom right corner of your webbrowser window to upload. It will be slower than a "normal" copy process, but it will most probably work. At least you will be able to get your work done :-)
You could also do the same with the win10 client to see whether even this way you might observe a difference in performance.
Last but not least you could try switching network protocols: If the macs are on smb use afp with them or vice versa.
Kind regards

Thank you! I actually do have AFP enabled, along with SMB, for the share I'm uploading to. I just don't understand why I'm having the problem, and only from my Mac. I recently reinstalled the OS, so there shouldn't be any corruption in the OS, I would hope. Uploads are blazingly fast from my PC.
Another strange thing is that when I drop, say, a video file via drag n drop, it doesn't upload, but instead, the video begins playing. Very strange.
Still, I appreciate your suggestions.
Regards,
John
