New Ultrastars
Hi,
I just replaced two older 1TB drives in my Pro Prioneer, so I now have 2x3TB Hitachi Ultrastars 7K3000 (HUA723030ALA640) and 4x1TB Samsung Spinpoints (HD103UJ). The switch went fine, but now that the "dust has settled" I think I may have a problem:
I checked the SMART info for the two new disks and it is all fine, except they are different:
Disk 1
Throughput Performance - 81
Spin Up Time - 0
Disk 2
Throughput Performance - 0
Spin Up Time - 324
Everything else is pretty much the same, and correct.
Also; every second or so I can hear one of the drives make a small read or write operation. Not a prolonged one, but just a tenth of a second, and then it stops, only to happen again in about 1 second. It indicates to me there is a problem with one of the disks. But, what do I know...
I checked the logs, but can't find anything interesting there.

- KillerBobAspirantHi,
Don't know if there is a problom, or it was lack of patience, but suddenly this afternoon it all was reacting just fine. The SMART info is correct, and the constant sound is also gone. So, all is working as expected.
