Does ReadyNAS 214 support HGST Ultrastar He10 HUH721010ALE604 with Power Disable feature (0F27454)

Hi!

HGST Ultrastar He10 HUH721010ALE604 has 2 partnumbers:

0F27606 -Without Power Disable feature

0F27454 -With Power Disable feature

Does ReadyNAS 214 support both items or only 1st hdd?

Firmware version: 6.9.1.

Thanks.

    Hi vasketsov_serg!

WD101KRYZ is listed in HCL for RN214 and basing on the WD spec sheet this drive does not support Power Disable Feature.

It would still be better if you can get in contact with WD support regarding part numbers since it does not show on their spec sheet as well and to verify if PD is a feature for this model.

    I hope this helped you.

    Regards

    Hi vasketsov_serg!

RN214 became available before SATA III rev 3.3 came out wherein the support for Power Disable feature is part of the revision. Other revisions do not support it as per HGST information on Power Disable feature where the HDD might not spin or get stuck due to  Pin3 providing power. SATA III for RN214 might be on rev 3.1 or 3.2 (We can try to check this info) where HGST drives with Power Disable feature is not supported. It would be best if we also wait for other forum users who have this information share it with us.

To answer your question, the HDD without Power Disable Feature is supported and listed on HCL but the latter is not yet tested or might not be compatible at all.

    Regards
