NV+ Drive Trays
I have an NV and an NV+. My NV has the first generation drive trays that stick. My NV+ has the newer black trays that do not stick. I would like to replace all four of the trays in my NV with the newer style trays. I believe the part number for the newer trays is RNDTRAY-10000S. Would someone be able to verify that this is the correct part number and, are these trays available for purchase anywhere? I have not had much luck finding them.

- StephenBGuru - Experienced UserThis is the correct part number. If you search with google shopping, you will find some stores that carry them. One that seems relatively inexpensive (including shipping) is

I've never purchased from them btw... - SJMartyAspirantNone of the vendors seem to actually have them in stock. I thought Netgear used to sell them directly...do they do this any longer? Any other ideas?
- StephenBGuru - Experienced UserI think they have discontinued their storefront.
I have no other suggestions, other than to expand the search to used suppliers (ebay, etc). - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredHave you tried contacting support online?
- SJMartyAspirantNo, I didn't try support. I figured that even if I could find them for sale somewhere, used or otherwise, it would be well over $100 for four trays. That's a bit much for an occasionally annoying problem. I only pull the drives for the annual dust blowing or if a drive fails.
I think this will be my next effort. - StephenBGuru - Experienced UserIt is probably worth a support email before you disassemble everything.
Personally I just do this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oGnRmSm7xB8 - SJMartyAspirantI opened a support case (#22336920) and it was a bust. They wouldn't replace the trays at no charge and wouldn't budge on the price. My only option is to pay $100 (full price @ 24.99 each) for four trays. Sheesh, at least meet me halfway...
- SJMartyAspirantJust wanted to follow up my original post with the end result. I went ahead and did the disassembly and used this fader lube as instructed. All four trays are working dare I say good as new...! I would have liked to have the newer trays but hey, better to only spend $8.00 and put it to bed.
