Pro 2 CPU Temperature
I just bought a Pro 2 this weekend. I have 2 3TB disks in RAID 1 configuration with RAIDiator 4.2.22. The temperatures from the Status|Health tab are:
Disk 1 42C/107F
Disk 2 39C/102F
CPU 76C/168F [Normal 0-80C/32-176F]
System 31C/87F [Normal 0-65C/32-149F]
The fan speed is 1167 RPM.
(I also own a NV+ and the disk and system temperatures are similar. That fan, of course, is running much higher.)
The CPU temperature is usually between 70C and this recent high of 76C. I am concerned the CPU is so running so close to its maximum. Should I be concerned, and what can I do/check?
Thanks for any help.

I've not seen the CPU go below 70C.
I understand and appreciate your adivce, but given the max stated range of 80C, 76C is disconcerting.
the atom cpu is rated for 105°C if i remember correctly.
80°C is just the limit netgear has set themselves.
once the cpu starts aproaching that limit, the chassis fan will start spinning faster to compensate..
nothing to be concerned about.
the ultra6plus and pro6 are the only ultra/pro nas not running an atom cpu so the temp specs are different on those. readyhome wrote: RMA. Spent some time with support and he was excellent. The upshot is he had a Pro 2 with a CPU temperature of 40C and I am steady between 70-76C. A new Pro 2 will be on the way.
A question: When the new one comes and I install my current disks, will I lose all the data currently on the drives? I suspect the answer is yes, but if anyone has an idea of how to insert them and be up and running, I'd appreciate hearing it.
Thanks to mdgm for his replies and Kostia for his help.
Did you get the new Pro 2? How are the temps?
I just got mine as well and the temps tend to be around 70 C even in idle.

I've had the new box for almost a week. The temperature hovers between 50C and 55C. Here's the latest stats:
Disk 1 Seagate ST33000650NS 2794 GB , 41 C / 105 F , Write-cache ON OK
Disk 2 Seagate ST33000650NS 2794 GB , 39 C / 102 F , Write-cache ON OK
Fan SYS 827 RPM OK
Temp CPU 54 C / 129 F [Normal 0-80 C / 32-176 F] OK
Temp SYS 29 C / 84 F [Normal 0-65 C / 32-149 F] OK
UPS 1 APC Back-UPS ES 650, Battery charge: 100%, 25 minutes
I appreciate beisser's point about the spec for the atom (I found an Intel site that said it was rated to 90C) but what happens if the CPU temperature exceeds 80C? Does the firmware start sending warnings? Does it shut down the ReadyNAS? Does it do nothing? I don't know, so I called support, who issued the RMA. My CPU temp got as high as 76C, which was too close to 80C for my liking. (BTW, I recalibrated the fan while writing this post and the CPU temp is now at 50C.) - shit... i guess i have to RMA mine. ugh. annoying!

better temps... but it could be because it's running firmware .19 instead of the .22 - readyhomeAspirantInteresting - I just started a Front Port backup button job and the CPU temperature jumped to 67C-68C. By any chance are you executing a backup when your CPU is hot?
- what firmware are you running?
the temps are higher when i'm running firmware .22
