Pro 6 vs RNDP600E ?
Hey all, trying to learn from these forums, but i keep getting confused on model terminology. I used to think Pro 6 was referring to what I have, but now I'm not so sure. Lots of topics on pro6 and just wondering if it applies to RNDP600E or am I in a whole other class?

- StephenBGuru - Experienced UserRNDP600E is a "pro pioneer". It is missing some "business features" - see the comparison here: http://www.netgear.com/images/ReadyNAS_ ... 8-8157.pdf
Functionally the software is the same as the ultra-6. - OK but Pro 6 = RNDP600E ? I've seen reference that suggests its Pro 6000-200 or something else.
- StephenBGuru - Experienced UserWhen I say "Pro 6" I am thinking RNDP6000. To avoid confusion, I'd call yours a "Pro Pioneer"
- Thanks for the confirmation... i was afraid of that. Plenty of user experience on the Pro 6 and various ultras, but not much on the Pro Pioneer. Does the Pro Pioneer share same hardware profile as any other model?
Chirpa recently told me that my model could support 8gb, but everything else in forums still says 4gb max.... - chirpaLuminaryI have a Pro Business with 8GB ram in it, which is the same hardware as the Pro Pioneer. The Pro 6 is the same as well, with slightly newer CPU.

excellent to hear! Most of the info I've read seems to be about the Pro6 - so if its the same hardware as Pro Pioneer with only difference of newer CPU - that really helps me come to some conclusions. Thanks yet again chirpa!chirpa wrote: I have a Pro Business with 8GB ram in it
Can you tell me the precise ram you have?- chirpaLuminaryBeen awhile, can't recall exacts. Any of the 8GB (2x4GB kit) in viewforum.php?f=110 should be fine.
- fifer55ApprenticeI will have something like I do here:

Obviously the above is for an Ultra 6 Plus, which is similar HW than the Pro Pioneer. Once I complete backing up my ~7TB's of files, I will also upgrade my Pro Pioneer with pictures and everything. My signature has the exact products I am using. I had the same learning curve as you, so it should be helpful.
