ReadyNAS 102 Bug list.
- Disk usage is reported incorrectly by GUI
- Disk usage graph is not reported correctly and does not match incorrecly or correclty reported actual usage number.
- Alert email configuration can not be changed after installation. Not sure where it gets the address or mail type from??? Does not work due to incorrect information. No way to "Save" changes.
- Multiple backups show "in progress". Only one backup should ever be "in progress" at a time.
- NFS performance was terrible until I manually added "async" to the nfs export, but new shares are performing well now without the addtion. Not sure if reboots solved the problem?
- Edits to backup source or destination causes GUI to show plain text password and corrupted field entries.
- Backup schedule does not work. All backups are run starting at midnight.

- StephenBGuru - Experienced UserIs this with 6.0.8?
I staggered my backup start times a few releases ago, and at that point the backups started at the time I set.
Also I am confused on the disk usage comment. On my RN102, the GUI ties out perfectly with df - mrdAspirantdf is also incorrect. I created the exact same shares that were on my other ReadyNAS DUO V1 and rsync'd them. The size reported on the 102 is double. Why?
Adding to the list of bugs...
- If there is a network outage, any scheduled backups will be frozen in the in progress state. - StephenBGuru - Experienced User

I'm not convinced df is incorrect. Not sure that is even possible w/o a corrupt file system.
In any event, I am not seeing this. Space reported in my shares (via windows) is exactly the same on my RN102 backup and the Pro. du . -S gives the same answer. Total space is consistent - and certainly it is not a factor of 2 off. That would put more stuff on the disk than it can hold.
I am wondering if the missing space is in your snapshots. Try deleting the snapshots and try again. You could also try scrubbing the volumes.
Can you clarify this a bit? Do you mean that if there is a network outage while a backup in running, that the backup never completes? Or that there is a bug in the reporting?mrd wrote: If there is a network outage, any scheduled backups will be frozen in the in progress state. - pantatechnicsAspirantSuppose you configure Power timer to shut down at 01:00 am.
If you do a data transfer between your pc and readynas, when the time for shut down comes the nas, begins a shut down proccedure witout any notice or
ask for shut own confirmation.
At SMB when i try to reach the readynas using windows networking, some times, my pc does' not see the readynas at once and need to redo the steps.
As for the wrong disk usage indication, when i delete a big amount of data, the gauge dows not subtructi the deleted amount to show the new usage. - StephenBGuru - Experienced User
It might be possible to have an power setting that says "shut the system down at time X but if the disks are active wait until they have been inactive for M minutes".pantatechnics wrote: Suppose you configure Power timer to shut down at 01:00 am.

But I don't see how the NAS could ask for user confirmation on your PC when you are using SMB. Or FTP, DLNA, iTunes Server, AFP, NFS, etc. There is no mechanism for it to use.
If you want to reduce power usage while leaving the NAS available, then why not use "enable disk spin-down"?
By default the RN102 has snapshots enabled. Any deleted files are shifted to the snapshot (so no space is freed up).pantatechnics wrote: ...As for the wrong disk usage indication, when i delete a big amount of data, the gauge dows not subtructi the deleted amount to show the new usage. mrd wrote: df is also incorrect. did you try this?
usage: btrfs filesystem df /Volume_Name ?
Duo V1 and RN6.x are different file system.- pantatechnicsAspirant

Hi thank you ro your reply.
Well the software when the timmer reach the shut down time may send the request to pc user.
If no reaction for some seconds then shut down begin.
My nas os 6.1.1 has no spin down option. Or it has and i didn't see it ? I think there is no spin down option - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredThere is no disk spin down option at this time.
- pantatechnicsAspirantAt the very new OS 6.1.1 Antivirus function could not be enabled.
When you clik it ask you if you want to enable it, if click ok it seems it is enabling but at least does not enable it.
The Antivirus tab it has not the green bar.
At the previous version 6.0.8 worked normaly.
I have to say congratulations to the firmware developers, they do their best to make the readynas a perfect nas solution. - pantatechnicsAspirantHello to all.
I am facing a truble.
I gave a host name "INTRANAS" to my rn102, from my pc i can access it using \\intranas.
From my netbook i can't access it as intranas but only as 192.168.1.10.
The other i noticed is when sometimes i use the host mane from my pc instead of the ip it doesn't ask me for my credentials and
it doesn't let me write data at my shares as well.
If i access it using \\192.168.1.10 it asks for credentials and it let me copy whatever i want.
any ideas ?
Thanks in advance
