ReadyNAS 102 stuck at 'Checking file system' after USB Recovery

Hi guys,

Been using a RN-102 for years now and I've been very happy with it and the support for it as well.
Since last weekend I had my first major issue and that is that the unit started to do weird things; 

- NFS shares were unreachable

- Unit didn't boot

- Frontview unreachable

Up to the point I decided to do a Factory Reset yesterday. After the reset, the unit still didn't came back online properly:

In RAIDar I get various Status messages:

- Management service offline

- Installing (stuck)
- Starting up (stuck)

I did get a message that the DISKS are OK (which are 2 SSD's)
After some searching I found that a possible cause could be a filled up Root partition after which I did some cleaning, but no joy.

Today I decided to do the USB recovery after which the unit powered down as expected.

I powered the unit up but now it's stuck at 'Checking file system' and it has been stuck at this Status for more than 2 hours:

Obviously, because I did a Factory Reset prior, I have no SSH access anymore.

Any ideas what could be going on and how to fix this?
