ReadyNAS 204 Ethernet Ports nor working

Good day,

I need some help, I have a ReadyNAS 204 which has been working perfectly since I bought it about a year ago, but after struggling to connect to it I found that none of the lights on either of the LAN ports come on.  Is it possible to access the the ReadyNAS directly from a PC without using the LAN connection?  Alternatively how do I recover the data currently on the system?

Regards,

  • There is no way other than the ethernet connection to access the data.  There are ways to recover the data from the drives using a PC and a Linux LIve CD.  But unless you are not the original purchaser, your unit is still under warranty, so why mess with it?

      Thank you,

I am the original purchaser and will return it, but I urgently need to access the data and can't wait for the replacement or repair to be done.

Are you comfortable with Linux shell commands?
