Hi. I don't see the NV+ on the Hardware Compatibility List Hard Disks. My office would like to purchase 2 disks to fill up the empty slots in our NAS. Can you point me in the direction of NV+ compatible disks, please?
thanks! This forum has always been very helpful. I appreciate your time and help. - intrlinevlatkoAspirantThanks!
- StephenBGuru - Experienced User3 TB drives will not work with the x6, or any other "v1" NAS.
The limit is 2 TB. - intrlinevlatkoAspirantI tried searching but couldn't find if WD 3TB TSD-3000EFRX drive is compatible with ReadNAS X6, running RAIDiator 4.1.10.
Currently I have 4 500GB drives but I would like to upgrade it to 4 3TB drives, but not sure if they will work. - StephenBGuru - Experienced UserGenerally I think that the red drives are better for NAS/RAID use than the green drives.
There is no problem mixing drives models Also, you can mix sata 6gb with sata 3gb, as sata itself is backwards compatible. Also, mechanical hard drives are all much slower than even 3 gb SATA (they peak at ~150 MB/s or ~1.2 gbs). - crazytaxiAspirantHi,
I'am new to this forum, read many topics but I have a question that is not found (by me) at this forum.
I have brought a new netgear duo v2, and i have a new WD 2TB (EARS, I don't know what the firmware is at this moment, I'am @ work) hdd. I have brought this drive a while back, not used until now. And I want to use this drive in my duo v2 and want to buy a new WD 2 TB (EARX) drive for a 4tb setup in my duo.
My questions are:
- The problems with this WD 2TB ears drive (4k sectors) in the past are now gone with the new software/firmware in my duo v2? Or are still there? (the hardwarelist says something about a specific firmware on the drive, tech bulletin link is dead)
- Is it wisely to add an other type of wd drive? (EARS = sata 3gb, EARX = sata 6gb) or must it be the same?
- buy a (new) red WD drive and buy an other one in the future? And put the WD 2TB (EARS) into a desktop computer...?
Thanks for answering my question! - rtmakoAspirantCould someone please post which make and model of 3TB or 2TB external USB hard drives work with NV+ V2 NAS.
I am not having luck with latest Seagate "Backup Plus Desktop" STCA3000300, can't see it. Although an older Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex 3TB USB 3 drive PN: 9ZQ2N3-500 works fine.
