ReadyNAS Diskless and Disk Replacement (XPRESSHW)
If I purchase a diskless ReadyNAS with XPRESSHW using supported disks of my choice from the HCL (e.g WD30EFRX) - in the event of a drive failure will Netgear replace the disk like-for-like under the extended XPRESSHW contract?

- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredOnly disks included in a semi or fully populated unit would be covered. Disks you purchase separately would not be covered by NetGear.
The semi and fully populated units come with disks pre-installed which are chosen by NetGear. They would use disks from the compatibility list. - AndyNZAspirantThanks for the prompt reply - is there an official support statement anywhere?
In a semi-populated unit, where additional disks have been purchased - i'd assume these also would not be supported?
Only drives on the HCL would be used. - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredIt's been mentioned several times on the forum before. Unfortunately there is no way to tell which model disk is included in a semi or fully populated ReadyNAS until you purchase it. You can hardly expect NetGear to provide warranty coverage to replace defective disks not purchased from them.
