- jjames1Tutortook apart this evening
part number : st-220fub-05e (Seventeam 100-220W) current 5A freq : 50-60Hz
Netgear part number : 331-10006-02
now just gotta find the match, it's only got one bundle of wire plug in and has fan removed loos like
looks just like this picture, but that is for NV and NV+ ---so not sure if will work or not
http://www.amazon.com/NETGEAR-Spare-Pow ... wer+Supply - jjames1Tutorfound this on another thread about the NV power supply, says it's also Netgear part number : 331-10006-02, same as what was on the power supply that came out of my nvx
viewtopic.php?f=24&t=64158#p359718 - xeltrosApprenticeYou can do it the easy way, use tech support and ask for a replacement. They will give you the right model number to purchase and they even may send you a replacement (at a cost, except if your power supply is in a faulty products list, I believe I read some NV models are on this list.)
- jjames1Tutorwill give that a try tomorrow, figured this would be easier to find out there on the net somewhere, if not will just have to buy a standard one and swap the wires around
- jjames1Tutorhave not got a chance to call yet, looking at newer netgears
Netgear ReadyNAS 300 Series 314 Diskless 4-Bay Network Attached Storage (RN31400-100NAS)

does anyone know if this is the business class model, I know the old nvx had a business model that had things like ssh, just want to make sure getting the non-restricted one if I get a new one
also found a cheap power supply just so I can make a fresh backup of the old one to usb (have to switch the pins, pretty cheap price) will see what netgear charges for theirs before order that one
http://smile.amazon.com/dp/B006ORBC14/r ... QF1NTL4MTV - xeltrosApprenticeEach and every new Netgear NAS runs the same operating system. The only difference is that x86 models have more available packages via apt-get/aptitude than arm version.
After that your concern is more about speed (ARM version speed never gets faster than 100Mbytes/s in read due to CPU limitation), HDMI port and the number of bays. SSH is available for all OS6 models along with replicate. There is no licensing needed for those. You of course get active directory integration and snapshots feature too. 314 model is not rackable though.
Important thing to know is that you can't just switch disks from the NV to the 314, they are not using the same OS. So you'll have to backup/restore so you may want to be considering all your possibilities (IE other brand/models, custom made NAS with freeNAS (AM1 socket is 25W for example)...). - jjames1Tutorthanks xeltros, I went ahead and ordered the one in my above post, the 314, had my current nvx sense 2009, served me well until the power supply issue, I noticed the 314 uses a different kinda plug, so maybe the power supply is on the outside of the unit now
I have a usb backup from a few months ago, should be good on that, knock on wood... - xeltrosApprenticeThe RN104 uses a normal computer cord (the one with a trapeze form) which is connected to a power brick and then uses a connector that looks like PS/2 keyboard a little bit. I don't know how to describe it exactly but I think you understood. I believe 314 uses the same system.
- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredYes. Only the 6-bay current gen desktop models have an internal PSU. The new 4-bay desktop units all use an external PSU.
- jjames1Tutorjust got my new 314, pulled the drives from old NVX and put in new 314 and when booted up I can reach same IP as old NVX and can map a drive from windows to the 314, so doing a fresh backup to usb and then will do a fresh install in hopefully a few hours
the \admin link doesn't work, but at least the data is there and easily copied to somewhere else, my old drives were configured in raid, not the xraid, so that may have had something to do with it being seen
