ReadyNAS Ultra 4 - cannot get it boot, have tried almost everything

This has been tried now, and it still rolls back to the display reading "Booting ..." forever again.
Does RAIDar see the NAS? And if so, what status does it show?
USB recovery does seem the right step. Legacy NAS are very particular about the USB drives that will work for that.
Raidar sees it when I first hit the setup and specify the storage array type. Then it goes through and does its thing and reboots and never moves past the "Booting ..." screen.
I've tried USB recovery with three different drives, never works. What should I be looking for as a drive? I've tried a 2GB USB 2.0, and 8 and 16BG USB3 drives from two different manufacturers. All formatted FAT32.

Have you doing a fresh install with just a single drive in place?
At least three times now. Twice before I wiped the disks using diskpart and once after. Same result.
I'm trying to find a USB that will do the USB recovery. 7 USB drives and no dice yet. I'm trying to scavenge for more, but this is ridiculous.
