Rsync timeout RN316 6.10.3
After some of the later firmware updates I started getting timeout errors when doing rsync backup from my readynas to remote NAS (Synology).
rsync: [sender] write error: Connection reset by peer (104)
rsync error: error in socket IO (code 10) at io.c(829) [sender=3.1.3]
If I enable compression it only fails sometimes.
It only happens on jobs with many or large files.
I see nowhere to set rsync timeout value.

Do you see the same error if you run rsync on the Synology instead of as a ReadyNAS backup job?
Anything change on the synology over this timeframe?

There isn't a setting exposed for it. But a connection reset isn't the same as a timeout. Generally the reset error means the connection has actually been broken.
Are the two NAS on the same network?

I havn't tried to run the job reverse from the Synology.
The backup is done over a 100Mbit IPSEC VPN connection.
Tried to ping from the Readynas to the Synology while doing rsync from Readynas and I get 0% packet loss (0 packets lost) but the backup still fails.
I'd look at the full logs on both systems, and also try running the rsync on the synology and see if it behaves the same way.
