WD Red NAS Hard Drive+ Neatgear Readynas NV+
Hello.
I bought a Netgear Readynas NV+ some years ago, and because of space I now need to upgrade the disks.
I have 4 pcs of Western Digital 4Tb (WD RED NAS Hard Drive)
Will this work with my Readynas nv+ ?
Its set up in X raid and I want to keep whats on the 2 tb already there.
Is it just to swap or do I need a firmware update?
Noob questions, but I really just bought this and have been a happy customer since..

- StephenBGuru - Experienced UserI suspect you have an NV+ v1 (running 4.1.x firmware). You can confirm that here: http://www.rnasguide.com/2012/01/09/how ... -or-nv-v2/
Don't just go by the labels.
Anyway, if I am correct, then you will need a new NAS to get more capacity. 2 TB drives are the biggest that the v1 will recognize. - Alebi1AspirantHey.

This doesn`t support 4 tb ? Really... Isnt this just a Firmware update ,and then its done?
If I have to buy a new one, which one do you reccomend? - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredStephenB is correct. 2TB drives are the max supported by this unit. To use 4TB drives you would need a new NAS.
- StephenBGuru - Experienced UserThe RN104 is Netgear's current entry-level 4-bay NAS. It is much faster than the NV+
The RN3xx and RN5xx are faster still.
