Your NETGEAR storage is not accessible from this computer... ReadyNAS Duo
Hi!
I've been around this forum for the last couple of hours - but I could not find my fix. Appologies up front if it has been answered before - but the thins is that I'm just a regular consumer and not much of "network wizz" so I donæt understand half of the answers around here...
I have a readyNAS that's aprox 5 years old. I've switched from a win 7 pc to a win 10 pc and have not been able to contact my NAS since.
The Raidar 6.3 finds my NAS no problem, but I can't access the admin page nor browse the darn thing. To be honest, I think it's a really crap device since my backup is on there and it can't handle me changing computers without beeing a computer network f*ing specialist!
Could someone PLEASE help me without beeing too techincal lingo-wise?
(btw: I THINK I have a 4200...)
Best regards!
Frustrated consumer...

or temp rig my local network to use the same range so that I can access the admin page at least?
Yes. An easy way is to set the LAN address range of your router to 192.168.86.x. Then reboot the router, and (if needed) the PC. Then you should be able to get to the admin page, and reset the IP address to DHCP.
Though there is puzzle here - your win7 PC shouldn't have been able to reach the NAS either.

I rather doubt you have a 4200, it looks like this:
I suspect you actually have a duo- but we do need to sort out whether it is a v1 or a v2.
So we need to confirm the model. RAIDar should tell you that, and it should also be telling you the firmware that the NAS is running.
Please post what it's telling you. Also, the IP address would be helpful. Note the IP address is safe to post, it is local and can't be used for over-the-internet access or hacking.

Thanks for the reply and the willingness to help out.
Ah! True - it's not the 4200...
Raidar say's:
ReadyNAS DUO
Firmware: 4.1.13
IP: 192.168.86.49
Status: Healthy
I'm not a network wizz - but I do understand that this IP is local. And that's pretty much the level of my understanding. I've tried to ping that adress - but it times out.
Good, so you have a ReadyNAS Duo v1.
Can you check the IP address of the PC? In particular we need to know if it is also 192.168.86.x
You can also try running CMD on Windows (enter CMD in it's search bar). That will open up a black window with a command line interface. Try entering
net use * /delete
net use t: \\192.168.86.49\C /user:admin nas-admin-password
Use the real nas admin password, and be careful on the slash direction and spaces. If you get a prompt, it's safe to let Windows proceed.
The first command terminates any open networking sessions (there shouldn't be any); the second tries to map the NAS data volume to drive letter T in the PC.
