Connect error code: -300

I have 2 units at different sites and they replicate folders to each other via 2 replication jobs across the internet, both of them randomly come up with error -300. What does error 300 mean?

Model: ReadyNAS Duo v2
OS: RAIDiator - arm
Version: 5.3.7
Replicate Version: 1.1.6 build R1

    have you succeeded in solving this problem ? To be short, 2 readynas have been installed at my wife's work and on another site. They have been configured to backup on each other. Last night, she got an e-mail with the "Connect error code: -300".

    Can anybody tell me what's the matter with the readynas ?

  • Replicate relies on a virtual network interface of ReadyNAS Remote to transfer data,error code -300 should be network issue between 2 Replicate units,please download logs and check 'Network_setting.log' to make sure the Virtual NIC is running on both units

    if Remote is functional,you will see the interface as below:

    thanks a lot for your answer. It helped me to understand how the replication works.

    I asked my wife to connect in order to get the logs. She answered me that she had not the password fot the admin account. the man who installed the 2 readynas refused to give it to her. He argued that there would be no warranty if he gave it because of the risk of the user to make any hazardous settings.

    So she will wait for this guy to come back and check/solve the problem.

    Of course Netgear's warranty does not depend on this. Did she purchase a third-party service contract from him?

    It is possible to reset the admin password from the front panel, so you can get it if you really have to.

    I'll just wait for the man to be back from Holiday. I'll see in the future if I need to reset the password. I just don"t want to have to manage the readynas.

    I used to take care of computers at my wife's office but it took me too much time and I'm not paid. :?

    the answer to the problem. The man came and corrected the problem. On the remote site, the ADSL box settings had been modified because of other problems. So the virtual NIC was out. Now everything is ok.

    To explain what an ADSL box is (in France), it's not only an ADSL modem, but mainly a router. It also allow (when possible) to Watch tv, to make telphone calls, and many ather functions like ftp server, web server,...
