If you're having problems getting ReadyNAS Photos to work, see if any of the following tips will help.1. If you are in User or Domain security mode, and you don't have "public" or "guest" access enabled for the [media] share, you will need to specify a login and password to connect from the ReadyNAS Photos desktop software. The login and password should be what you would normally use to connect to the [media] share.2. If you are in Share security mode, and you have a password set for the [media] share, when connecting from the ReadyNAS Photos desktop software, leave the login field blank, and enter the share password.3. If you are in User or Domain security mode, and you are an account on the ReadyNAS with the same user name but a different password as what you are using on your PC, you will need to change the password to be the same.4. Make sure [media] share has read/write privileges over CIFS.5. If you have installed a pre-release version of RAIDiator that had ReadyNAS Photos support (shame on you since we never really released it ;-) ), and you're having problems with the READYNASPHOTOS database, you will need to remove the ReadyNAS Photos add-on, and re-install the add-on from here.

Yoda,I have just installed firmware version 4.01c1-p1 and enabled the ReadyNAS Photos. I can import photos, have created and shared an album and got the email to view the album. However, when i click on the link, it tells me that my user account is offline. I have guest access enabled for the Media share and have also tried the steps you outline. I am logged into the ReadyNAS desktop software, same result. Any ideas on why it keeps telling me that my user is offline? I have attempted to sniff the IP packets to search for ports that might be blocked in my firewall, however in other form notes they seem to indicate that opening ports is not necessary. Any other thoughts? Thanks!

Hi, newbie here. Just got my top whack RNR4410 4TB ReadyNAS rack mount jobbie and am consolidating my files and learning how to use it. The Photos feature is very exciting, considering I do part time photography and have accounts on SmugMug and Flickr.I have a fast internet uplink, so I am very curious on using the NV instead of (or as well as) the commercial services.Firstly can you point to a URL describing what this does exactly? Or even not exactly :D So far I think, it should allow external access, and it creates downsized versions of jpg files.Some simple questions, which may be answered eslewhere(?) include:1) What do I need to do on my NAT Router to allow access from outside?2) Can I choose who can see what? By group or user id, eg parents can see family photos, but not the public.3) What control or choice do I have over the templates and logos?4) On first look, it seems that the gamma was way over contrasty, is the user setable?5) Can I leverage the second network port for external access? You shouldn't need to mess with your router. Photos are only shared to the folks you invite, so these folks can always see the album you had shared unless you remove the shared album. You can find out more info here if you haven't already looked.With regard to it not working, try getting the latest add-on image from here and re-install the add-on.

Tnx! I downloaded the app only yesterday, so it should be reasonably up to date. I am still in Discovery mode.

I don't know for sure but I'm guessing they are having problems with email confirmations and links etc as I've tried creating a readynasphoto login three times today with three different email addresses and haven't received any of the email confirmations.

Hello all,

I bought the readynas duo about a month ago. Until a few days ago, my readynas photos was working just fine. Now whenever I share an album with a recipient, the email is NOT received. I can't think of anything that has changed.

I have tried sharing with gmail, yahoo, and university domains. Nothing.

I have tried unsharing and then resharing albums, rebooting and restarting the readynas, and trying to send from Mac OSX and from PC. Still the email is not received!

What can I do?

I currently own a ReadyNAS NVX for one moth now, so far I didn't run into any significant problems and I am happy the way this thing works. But now I've got a problem which I can't solve. I've read a view other posts on this topic but they didn't offer me any solution.

So what's my problem: I tried to install the add-on via System/Update/Local to my NVX but it says "invalid image" - I used to "latest" version of ReadyNAS Photo - ReadyNAS_Photos_2.2-x86.bin

I use RAIDiator 4.2.11 - and RAIDar 4.3.0

I rebooted the NVX several times, I also redownloaded the file... - Nothing works and it keeps saying "invalid image"

So maybe the image isn't compatibel with this version of RAIDiator? I don't know

Help!! Anyone?

I located the image in the media share of the readynas and then installed the image. That helped!

I now got a fully functioning readyNAS photos! :D

Can not Connect ReadyNAS Photos share exit code 32

Hello,

I have the following setup:

ReadyNAS Duo
RAIDiator 4.1.6 [1.00a043]
ReadyNas Photos Service v2.2 (Service installed and enabled)
ReadyNas Photos application 1.1 for Linux (icon is shown in Notification area)
media share has full read/write access over CIFS, NFS and FTP
CIFS has 'Allow guest' enabled.

The webserver (http://localhost:1025/readynas/template/index.jsp?pageId=settings) finds my NAS box, but cannot connect to it.

I originally had my media/Pictures share as a symlink to /backup/machine_name/kev/Pictures, which I thought may have been causing the problem. So I moved this to 'Pictures2', and created a new folder 'Pictures' under media, with full permissions. Yet when I try to connect I get the same error. I have tried using with and without authentication (using my NAS local account and using the root account), but same result.

Here is the full error:

Unable to connect to ReadyNAS Photos share on 192.168.0.2
share=[hostname=192.168.0.2, share=Dekoh$], exit code=[32], error=[Warning: mapping 'guest' to 'guest,sec=none' ]

Any pointers would be grateful.

Hello,
I've had my readynas for a bit now, and just recently decided to try and setup the readynas photos. I get it all installed and created a login ID and password. This allows me to login and see my readynas box but, when i click it, another window comes up and i enter a username/password (same as i use to login through finder). And gives me a message at the bottom stating 'Invalid Credentials', I've tried every password possible that i setup on the unit and non work.

I do have SMB / CIFS enabled, along with all users have read/write abilities within the 'media' share. I read what the support agent stated at the start of this forum but do not understand it fully, both passwords from the admin to mine are exact the same, but still fails. I am setup with the 'user' security mode.

Am I doing something wrong?

I've just purchased the Netgear ReadyNAS NVX RNDX4250 which is running the ReadyNAS NVX Business Edition and I can't seem to find any Add-ons.

I have upgraded to RAIDiator 4.2.9 how do I now enable the ReadyNAS Photos and BitTorrent Download Manager?

I've looked in Services > Installed Add-ons but only find the ReadyNAS Remote v1.0.9.25 and nothing else...

What do I do now?

You can try the following.

Stop ReadyNAS Photos application, and try deleting the ~\Dekoh\mnt folder by yourself. Restart ReadyNAS Photos and retry connecting to ReadyNAS.
