ssh for Duo v2?
Is it possible to enable root ssh for the duo v2?
Uploading EnableRootSSH_1.0-x86.bin results in the error message "Architecture is bad".

- jleinbachAspirantJust so i'm sure I understand, this is a change between v1 and v2? My backup is going from the ReadyNAS to ibackup using rsync. Ibackup's rsync server chokes on one of the parameters passed by the ReadyNAS. My solution with the v1 box was to just change its backup script so that it no longer included that parameter. Worked like a charm and I could still manage everything via the ReadyNAS interface (helpful because things like sending email notifications are all handled, etc). I want to do the same thing now with the v2 box (it is replacing the v1 box which now has a non-drive related hardware issue). It sounds like that will no longer be possible. Is that really the case? Thanks again for the education.
- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredOn ARM and x86 the backup script is compiled into a binary so it's not possible to edit it.
You could write your own backup script and use a cron job to run it on a schedule. - jleinbachAspirantUnderstood. Thanks. Of course if I'm doing that (and adding email notification on completion, etc) the ReadyNAS doesn't really buy me much. Might as well just pop my drives in a cheap linux box and set up there... Thanks again. btw: does NetGear still sell the v1 or has that been discontinued now?
- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredDiscontinued but some resellers still have it in stock.
- stoff75AspirantI have updated my Duo v2 with latest firmware to 5.3.5 and enabled AD authentication which played havoc with my security settings! And I've tried to enable SSH but it's not working. I upload the SSH packaged linked here successfully, it says "ok now I gotta reboot" and it boots up fine but still getting connection refused, and it doesn't appear under the installed addons page either so guessing it's not installed. Is there an updated package for SSH enabling for 5.3.5? Is it built in? .. help please...
- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredThe add-on has no UI.
Remember user for SSH is 'root'. Password is initially set to be the same as the 'admin' password. - stoff75Aspirant*DUH*! The "root" user did it, thanks! I know the SSH doesn't have a UI but I would have expected it to show up under "installed addons", my bad.
Thank you! - Mike38AspirantHello.
it did not work for me.
package was installed successfully but at boot i got an error:
SSH access failed to be enabled due to error 13.
regards.
