Teaming support for ReadyNAS Pro Pioneer with 4.2.17
Hello,
I sucessfully run my ReadyNAS Pioneer Pro under 4.2.15 and I'm using the teaming add-on provided by super-poussin. The new firmware release 4.2.17 provides a couple of improvements and so I'm planning to upgrade to that one. But before I'm going to do that, I'd like to know, if somebody in the community has already been able to install the teaming community add-on of super-poussin.
This add-on is a great piece of software and together with a managed CISCO switch and a dual port card on my Windows 7 machine, I get transfer rates of 100MB/s. I don't want to downgrade to a slower solution.

- onicromAspirantgoogle for 'bonding' in debian its fairly easy to setup teaming on the readynas the linux term is bonding and the mode (active/active or active/passive) is set as part of the config.

Have you ACTUALLY DONE this?
I'm quite careful with playing around with the network settings on the NAS. I don't want to lose the access to it...
I currently have a setting of 802.3ad with jumbo frames which is the fastest you can get (as far as I know).
I'm quite dependent on a fast connection to the NAS since I work a lot with pictures on my desktop (I also have a card installed with two 1GB entries which I'm bundling on the desktop end).
Is there anybody out there who has done such a configuration exercise directly on the NAS? - super_poussinVirtuosoNot so easy guy. If it was it would make a long time I publish an updated addon ;P

If somebody can do it then it's you :D Please let us know when you have the teaming add-on ready for the new release. - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredThe Pro Pioneer does not have the teaming feature. If you want to use NIC teaming you should get a Pro 6 (RNDP6000-200).

I know, not out of the box. With the teaming add-on from Super-Poussin it was passible to turn on the teaming feature up to 4.2.15, even on the Pro Pioneer. What I'm waiting for is the port of the add-on to 4.2.17 - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredWell teaming is not on the home models for a reason. NetGear's not going to make it easy (if possible) to enable such a feature on a NAS which they don't support it.
- omer1143Aspirantsuper-poussin, are you actively working on adapting the teaming plug-in to 4.17?
Just asking... - super_poussinVirtuosowas w<orking on , will try again as soon as I have time , but each time It's not working ===> Factory reset :( so hard and time consuming
- omer1143AspirantGreat! As a little motivation, I just made a donation. You definitely earned it for the hard work you are doing for the comunity.
