5.6KB/s Speeds from Duo (Gigabit Wired)

Hi There!

I am really struggling to contain my temper. I decided after struggling with my Duo for 2 Years to replace it with a Ultra2 Plus, but before that I need to get the data from it, somewhere so I can remove the disks, format them and put them into the new unit. I am getting 5K a second speeds copying to my computer.

We are on a Gigabit Lan (Wired) to a Netgear Switch GS605v3 Switch (I have another GB Switch which didn't help). I have tried locking the speeds to 100MB Full Duplex and changing the MTU from 1500 to 1492 and that made no different. TCP retransmits are massive (in the 10's of thousands).

I am at my wits end, I need to get this moving faster so I can migrate to the newer hardware.

I am confident it's not a cabling issue. (Changed ALL Cables multiple times).

I am running W7 x64 Ultimate, and it's running 4.1.7 and Raidar 4.3.3

Cheers

  • Hi.

Ok well I have sorted of sorted the issue. I was daisy chained to another netgear 8 port switch, and if I connect to THAT switch and don't daisy chain the problem is resolved I think. I am getting 21-30MB/s right now.

Neither switch is faulty (as mentioned I have replaced the other before with no change). Why would the NAS care about DC

I am wondering if the switches all have 802.1x flow control enabled. If not, then possibly you are running out of buffering in the switch.
