a File explorer for OS6
Hi,
I have recently upgraded to OS6 from 4.x.x. Under version 4 I had a file explorer app PHPexplorer I think that was a handy way to move and rename and delete file on the array w\o working through windows. Are there any similar programs for OS6?
Thanks

- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredYou could browse shares directly within the admin GUI under the Shares tab.
- xeltrosApprenticeYou are able to browse directly on the interface under shares then click on one and select browse.
You could also look into ajax explorer or pydio file explorer in the available applications (directly under applications tab). - brentrlAspirantThe browse function is fine for the files that are in shares, however not everything on my NAS is in a share. What if I need to access a user's home folder ? I know I could create a share for that folder and go from there but the fact is for the I don't like using shares as removing shares removes the actual folder AND the data...really dumb design. And I don't like the idea of having a bunch of typically unused shares on the system. Shares should not be actual folders but pointers, permission containers if you will. I can connect to the C volume via SMB as admin and generally do what I want but files sometimes get 'locked' and widows explorer won't allow me to edit files. So I am looking for a root access file manager, I know this could all be done via a shell but I prefer to work in a visual environment. I have looked into pydio and ajax explorer but don't know how to configure them to show my root file system.
Thanks - super_poussinVirtuosotry pydio
- brentrlAspirantI'm looking at it now but how do I set it up to show root C.

- brentrlAspirant'/C/ is not writable' , Is this because I am not logging in as root? I can log in as admin but not root (i have tried). I have logged in as root via SSH so I can access /C/
Thanks
