Anti-Virus Plus in IE11

Hi
Hope someone can point this to the right subforum as I could not find a subforum for AV Plus (which in fact is developed by Netgear Inc)

I have an RN314. Been running smoothly.
I have issues when accessing the AV Plus control panel when using IE11.
Trace to reproduce:
Login to RN314 Frontview Dashboard by using the DNS name of the NAS --> Apps --> Click the launch button associated with Anti-Virus Plus --> New Tab opens and points to https://pippernasv3/apps/avplus/admin/index.html (pippernasv3 is the DNS name of my NAS) this results in the following blank-ish screen (sorry, don't know how to make OneDrive create img-links that work here...):
http://1drv.ms/1yLlLDm
...which does not provide much information
Firing up the dev dashboard reveals two things (jQuery does not get downloaded (404) and a javascript error):
http://1drv.ms/1peBdId
and
http://1drv.ms/11qe8aB
Somethings rotten...
Replacing the DNS name in the addressbar with the IP of the NAS results in a Login box and ultimately a German translation (but a working interface):
http://1drv.ms/11qdNEW
All other interfaces to the RN314 is in English...

Firefox works flawlessly when using the above trace to reproduce.

Any ideas?

Footnote: it seems like IE is kinda 3rd grade citizen to Netgear Readynas development, why is that?
  • At last I found the culprit. Better late than never.

I'll share the simple solution with you here :)

It turns out that IE identifies my NAS URL as an intranet zone (that's OK) but it uses compatibility view settings for this zone. Disable the compat view settings for intranet zone by de-selecting the checkbox "Display intranet sites in Compatibility View" in Compatibility View settings and viola!

When you fix things for one browser you can break another. IE is notorious for introducing changes that break functionality.

Hopefully this will be resolved in the next app update.

What version of ReadyNAS OS are you running?

Have you updated to 6.2.0 yet?
  • I'm running latest and greatest 620.
    Always up2date there [WINKING FACE]
