It just struck me that the ReadyNAS just puts the apps folder on one of the volumes made with the installed HDDs, rather than storing them in its internal memory with the OS, as I had assumed. This tidbit completely eluded me until now. It's no wonder, then, that there was no folder named "data". Ermaguuurd, duh!
