Copy of first file to NVX on XRAID2 always fails
I have a NVX with 3 disks of 1GB in XRAID2
each time after a fresh start of the NVX the first file I copy to the NVX stops during the copy
for no reason at all... after a while it fails or picks up again
eg when I use supercopier 2 I get an error message.
once it has failed once, I can transfer files just fine.
anyone else have this problem or does this sound familiar to anyone else?
or even have a solution for it? thx

- How do you transfer file? Possible that the SAMBA service has not initiated yet.
- abemanAspirantDifferent ways... but it happens with all of the methods eg regular windows copy, supercopier 2, ...
and in fact I see the shares fine, the transfer starts also fine but at at a certain point it just stalls/stops... - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredWhat version of RAIDiator?
What brand and model disks are you using?
Please open a tech support (http://www.readynas.com/support) case and post your case number in this thread preferably editing the thread title (i.e. subject of opening post in this thread) to include it. - abemanAspirantRAIDiator 4.2.19 (x86)

thx - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredYour drives are not on the compatibility list (http://www.readynas.com/hard_disk_hcl)
So it's possible your problems could be due to incompatible disks. - abemanAspirantif thx Caviar Green WD20EARS is compatible, I would assume that the Caviar Green WD10EARS is also compatible
the drives were purchased together with the NAS - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredThat doesn't necessarily follow.
Only a specific version of the WD20EARS (see notes column) is listed as compatible.
What's the suffix appended to the end of the model number for your WD10EARS? - abemanAspirantI do not have access to them right now,
I will post exact details tonight of the disks. - abemanAspirantok so heard back from support
same argument that my HD's are not supported
I have 2 WD10EARS-00Y5B1
and 1 WD10EARS-00MVWB0
could it be that I am having this problem because of the difference in suffix?
those are just different batches right? or is there an other difference? - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredIt's a different version of the drive so has compatibility issues that one with the same suffix as the supported WD20EARS would not.
Do you have a good backup?
