Duo v2: Cannot login to c share using windows explorer
Hi,
I have a new duov2 RAIDiator 5.3.3 ( sold the duo v1 ) Now i can't acces the c share from windows explorer. It asks for a user name and password. When i use the admin password i get rejected.
Also i can't find any security settings in the dash board.
Anybody got a clue?

- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredHave you created any users on the dashboard yet?
- sonixthatsmeAspirantYep even with the same name as my desktop. Example user on readynas is sonixthatsme username on desktop is also sonixthatsme. On the old duo you could set all kinds of protocols and i can't find it on the duo v2.
- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredDoes logging in as an ordinary user work fine?
- sonixthatsmeAspirantDou you mean on de dash of the nas or in windows area? Cause i can't login on the nas in windows on any way. I can access the specific shares that i made such as the media folder.
- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredWhen you login to CIFS (i.e. \\ip.address.of.nas or \\hostname) in Windows. If username and password on PC is same as username and password on NAS you will be logged in automatically.
Try this suggestion: http://www.readynas.com/kb/faq/share/how_do_i_connect_to_the_readynas_as_admin
You'll need to delete the existing connection to the NAS first. - sonixthatsmeAspirantWhat do you mean by existing connection?
- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredOn the command line if you type "net use" (no quotes) you'll see the existing connection to the NAS
"net use * /DELETE" (no quotes) would delete all network share connections. - sonixthatsmeAspirantThat also doesn't work. But i've chatted with a worker at the helpdesk for arround 2 hours. He even took over my system. And even he coudn't figure it out and now he's consulting a Senior Product Specialist. And i will get an E-mail if the think they have a solution.
I will Post updates if there are any. - sonixthatsmeAspirantDidn't had any responde from helpdesk...... :( .
I was thinking maybe try to install an older RAIDiator. I was thinking about 5.3.2 - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredOnce they've released a 5.3.4 public beta I'll try it on that and if I can't get it to work open a thread in the public beta forum about this.
I wouldn't recommend downgrading the firmware as I don't think it'll solve this problem.
