Error in delete snapshot 28004020002
Good evening.
New RN202 delivered with Firmware 6.3.2, has 1*500Gb disk, loaded with less than 2Gb files into Backup share, set to Hourly snapshots.
After the first night snapshots was changed to Daily; but it seems that no snapshots are taken after that (3 days ago), only 13 snapshots exist. Have added 1*1Tb disk (x-raid) and copied more files to another share, disk has now > 90% usage.
After PC restart I decided to delete the Backup snapshots, it failed. It was just test files, so I tried to Delete the Backup share,
it failed 1004030000 and a mail saying "Share 'Backup' cannot be delete. Try it again later."
Restarted RN202, did not help.
The snapshot delete problem is mentioned several times, and somewhere it was suggested to Balance the volume.
Where can I find this in the GUI (I only find Defrag, Scrub, Export, Destroy (grayed) and Settings under System->Volume->Data)?
A "user guide" for the RN202 would be handy, best match is currently readynas6.2_11March2015.pdf, but it is not for RN202
- is there a better manual?
What else can I do if Balancing does not help?
Thanks in advance
It is somewhere in 6.3.5 for sure.
Try system->settings and look at the volume maintenance. In 6.3.5 you might need to schedule it, instead of running it on demand.

Your volume is quite full so a balance may not work. You want to get volume usage down to 80-85% before running a balance if you want to try that.
6.3.2 is old firmware btw. You may wish to update the firmware.

Good morning, and thank you for your answers.
Upgraded firmware to 6.3.5 and decided to chalenge the "Auto snapshot delete" function that goes into action at 95% disk use. It actually deleted all the snapshots; but isn't 95% a bit late?
FWIW: I copied my local data drive, filesize total=257Gb, to the 460Gb disk space (55%); that generated warnings about > 90% disk usage (33Gb free of the 460Gb). So I figure I should use less than 50% of a disk.
Do you have further info regarding the amount of reserved disk space?
No problem deleting files to try the Balance function; but where is it?
