Factory Reset Help
Hello, I'm new to this so please bear with me........I have been trying to update the firmware on my ReadyNAS Duo V2 from 5.3.7 to 5.3.8. I have tried to update it using the Dashboard but this did not...

You could try an OS reinstall, I assumed support would have tried that with you already.
A factory reset will wipe any data on the disks in the unit.
Do you have a backup of your data?
The only way to backup your data will be to read one disk use Linux reader and copy data off it.
If the OS reinstall doesnt work and you need to factory reset, what you could do is remove the disks with the unit off, label them according to slot, then insert à spare disk.
Do the factory reset with the spare disk in.
Update the firmware if you can.
Power down the unit and remove the spare disk, reinsert the original disks.
Try to boot the unit
Option 2b will not work.
