Hardware Compatibility List Hard Disks
I realize it's hardware related but since it's also OS 6 related I figured I would ask here. I also realize Netgear doesn't support OS 6 on Legacy devices however I'm wondering if the Hardware Compati...
I've bought all my disks off of eBay... each one was a new external drive (picked them all up for less than $139 a piece which is still cheaper than the bare 4TB seagate drives on newegg.)
The last one was a steal as I bought a non-working external drive for $85... still obviously had the warranty on it, spent $10 to send it in to seagate, and even though the external enclosure said it was refurbished, the drive in it was brand new!
My oldest drive is sitting at about 8300 hours... 5 drives have over 7000 hours and only my latest drive that I got the deal on is the baby at around 2600 hours.
eBay isn't terrible but when it comes to buying used drives make sure you get the serial number prior to buying the drive (whenever possible) and once you get the drive run any and every diagnostic software you can on it to make sure it's up to snuff.
