HELP: how do I abort factory reset on NV+

When you initiate the factory reset, the NAS reboots performs a few checks and then starts a 10 minute countdown. So long as you power down (however you can e.g. pulling the power) before the 10 minute countdown finishes the factory reset is aborted.
