Help trying to restore from usb backup (error code -50).
Hi, I'm desperately trying to restore from a USB backup and receive the following error message " The operation can’t be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code -50)." when trying to copy the file back via AFP.
Its on a NASDuo running RAIDiator 4.1.9-T6 [1.00a043]
MacPro 10.6.8
2x Seagate ST2000DM001-9YN164 [1862 GB]
Configuration: X-RAID (Expandable RAID), 2 disks
Status: Redundant
The problem is caused by any files that are set to read only however after tests if I change the permissions prior to copying I receive the same error. So I'm stuck.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated as I need to get the files copied back before the start of next week.
Many thanks.

- devs1AspirantAnyone?
- devs1AspirantUpdate.
I seem to have found a way to copy the files over via terminal. Using the cp command (detailed here:http://support.apple.com/kb/TA20831)
The files are still being copied and will be for a while so I'm yet to check if any problem files are being skipped or not?
Could anyone with knowledge of the Nas let me know if I should repair the permissions via the Nas when I get the files back? If so how is this done?
Thanks. - Marto731AspirantHello,
I have a caller who was trying to copy data from Mac OS X 10.8.4 to a
Factory defaulted blank NV+ v1, F/ware V4.1.12
He could copy a single file to a new "test "share.
when he tried to copy a set of directores, the message back was
"This operation cannot be completed because of unexpected error--
Error code --50 ".
When he tried from an older Machine OS X 10.6.8 the copy worked.
