Management service is offline (RN102)

Hello,

Since this morning, I have an issue with my ReadyNAS 102. I was about to update it to 6.6.1 (from 6.6.0), but the download failed. I decided to restart the NAS (it's always on) then try again, but when it restarted, I couldn't log in to the administration page.

Right now, the power button (blue LED) is blinking, and RAIDar says that the management service is offline. I tried to download the logs, but I can't, it just stays at 0% then says it failed. However, the diagnosis says :

  • 2017-03-25 11:03:11: Assertion 'f' failed at ../src/journal/journal-file.c:1674, function journal_file_post_change(). Aborting.

So, I don't really know what to do. I never had any issue with my NAS, and I don't know much about it. If it helps, the only apps working on my NAS when it boots are Python, Sickrage, CouchPotato and Transmission. I don't use these apps a lot but they're still running in the background. Also, I'm in France, if it changes anything for the support I can have.

Please if anybody knows what I should do to fix it, let me know, I'm stuck here.

  • Your /opt/sickrage directory is 2.5GB. I just moved that to the data volume and created a symlink.

    Rebooted it to normal mode and it appears to have come up fine.

    Can you boot to volume read-only mode (a boot menu option) and try downloading the logs again?

      Hello mdgm, and thank you for your answer.

      Well, from what I've read online, I only have these boot options on my NAS : Normal, Factory Default, OS Reinstall, Tech Support, Skip Volume Check, Memory Test and Disk Test. I tried the "skip volume check" option as I read in other posts, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to do anything when I boot that way.

      So is there another another boot menu option I am not aware of? If so, how can I boot that way?

      Thank you!

        Hello mdgm,

        I sent you a PM, but in the meantime I also had an access on the logs in my administration page, as I told you. For some reason I still can't download it, but it says (in French) that the volume root uses 100% of its capacity. I read on another post here that it could be a log file being too big. So, should I try to erase all the logs directly from the administration page?

        Thanks.
