msmtp authentication method auth plain

I encountered an error when trying to configure mail notifications: errormsg = 'the server does not support the LOGIN authentication method' exitcode = EX_UNAVAILABLE. I use my personal mail server using smtp 25 port, Auth Plain authentication method. How can I configure NG ReadyNAS 214 to send the notification through my server? Can I change the authentications settings in /etc/msmtpr? Show me the msmtpr settings for using auth plain.

If not already done, after downloading the logs you might want to check the following files in the zip-file:

    msmtp.log

    msmtp.queue.log

Don't feel bothered, if this does not help you further. Just my 2 cents. Good luck with fixing.

No file msmtp.queue.log. msmtp.log contains only the error specified in the topic. I use ssh to work with files and the system. This is more convenient than the web interface. P.S. I'm using the latest version of the ReadyNas system (6.9.3)

Try downloading the log zip file from the web ui anyway, as it will extract/create some logs on the fly.  If Netgear chimes in, they will want to see the full log zip (though you don't post it here).
