NAS Constantly Uploading Something
Hi
My NAS is constantly uploading something at significant speed and I cant work out what
I can see via my router that the NAS has an ongoing upload speed about 10-30Mbps and its uploading about 60Gb a day and/or 2.5Tb a month. This included 60Gb a day for at least September last year according to my ISP - but it may be earlier as the records dont go bcak further. I have unlimited data and unlimited up/down speed so havent noticed until i logged in with my ISP to check something else and had a look at my usage.
The only cloud service i have, apart from Readycloud, is Dropbox that I have synced to my music, documents and photos. However it uploaded 60Gb every day last week when I was overseas and was definately not adding anything to the NAS. I turned Dropbox sync off but it didnt change the upload speed at all. The only other thing I am doing is creating shares on the NAS but other than that I havent set up any other services, etc. The logs dont show the network activity and I cant find any other logical category to look under.
Any idea how to work out what is being uploaded?
Netgear have found the issue
It was the dropbox api and an issue with the time stamping of files (thats all the info I have)

Update:
It is the Dropbox sync causing the upload issue
I tunrned the dropbox sync off and looked at my router upload speed and it was still showing 30 mbps uploading. However the sync seems to take some time to stop as i turned the sync off for a couple of days and my daily upload volume dropped to less than 100Mb. The first time in about 6 months. I turned the sync back on and my daily uploads increased back to Gb's per day.
So why is this dropbox sync uploading Gb's of data each day if the data isnt changing?
Plus I meant to say I have the snapshots service working on the NAS, not created shares. Apart from the snapshots and the anti-virus enabled its a fairly standard set up.

Hi
The logs dont show anything unusual - unit powers on and off, hourly snapshots taken, etc. No network activity of any kind is listed.
Someone from the Netgear support team has contacted me and they are having a look at the issue via the Diagnostic Mode. The NAS is currenlty uploading at 45Mbps so if they are listening they should be seeing something.
