NAS won't do factory reset - booting
I have new NAS 104 (name = 2(because I have it more)), I changed dynamic IP to static and then I updated FW. Here NAS crashes. It’s all the time in booting mode. I can get in boot menu and I tried normal boot, reinstall OS, factory reset. Some results … in small LED is written: booting.
Any help will be appreciated.

What firmware?
Did you look at the NAS status with RAIDar?
I bought it with 6.1.8 chanage IP, then do update to 6.4 untill then is booting, I tray boot option from boot menu.
RAIDar can not detect it any more.

ReadyNAS 104 units need to be updated to 6.2.5 before updating to 6.4.0.
Try this:
1. Use USB Boot Recovery to go back to 6.2.5: ReadyNAS OS 6: USB Recovery Tool2. Do a factory default (wipes all data, settings, everything) or if you data you haven't backed up that might not have been wiped (just in case the factory default didn't get far enough to wipe your data in this special case) then perhaps try an OS Re-install before resorting to doing a factory default.
3. Update the firmware again.
4. Verify the firmware update is successful. If the unit stays on 6.2.5 you may need to use the workaround mentioned here: http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/29961?utm_source=community&utm_medium=announcement&utm_campaign=readynasfirmware%22
5. OPTIONAL: Seeing you've recently wiped the unit you may wish to do another factory default (wipes all data, settings, everything) to get a clean setup on the new firmware.
