netgear readynas nv+ stuck booting after a power outage
Hello,
I was hoping someone might be able to point me in the right direction to getting my ReadyNAS back up and running.
Yesterday my home had a power outage.
I turned on the ReadyNAS and it just says booting. This has occurred for 12 hours. No other messages on the LED. It’s stuck here.
Turned it off once after 4 hours and started it again. Still booting.
If I check Raidar it says all 4 disk are healthy and up and running.
If I try access the admin page. I cannot, it just navigates to a failed page.
I’ve tried typing the IP address directly to browser and nothing.
The setup.
2X2GB drive making a 4TB raid
2x1 GB mirrored raid making 1TB of important files
Any help would be appreciated.

I am wondering what firmware you are running.
Also, do you have ssh enabled?
- walkz187AspirantI don’t know the exact firmware version but it was the latest and most up to date for an old ReadyNAS NV+.
Is there a way I can check this given the current situation?- StephenBGuru - Experienced User

I am trying to make sure we have the correct model.
The original NV+ (called v1 here)
- says "ReadyNAS NV+" on the front panel
- runs 4.1.x firmware.
The NV+ v2
- says "ReadyNAS NV+ v2" on the front panel
- runs 5.3.x firmware.
It will be harder to recover data from the 2x2TB RAID-0 volume.

I have the same issue, my house had a power outage. I have my RN31400 connected to a back up battery. When I got home I turned it back on and it's stuck on 99% boot. Not reachable through ready cloud, nor to the IP address. But I am still able to see and open the mapped folders. I have done a normal boot, I have reinstall the SO, but nothing.
Any help will be appreciated.

But a different ReadyNAS, which does make a difference.

Expected. since Netgear turned off ReadyCloud in July.

You are saying that you have access to the files? If you do, then the first step is to back them up. The data is definitely at risk.
Is RAIDar giving you any status information?
When you say "IP address", are you saying that accessing the web ui using https://nas-ip-address/admin fails?
Also, what firmware are you running on the NAS?

********Yes, I have access to the files, I am in the process of backing them up to my Unraid Server.
Is RAIDar giving you any status information?
********The status I get is "Management service is offline"
When you say "IP address", are you saying that accessing the web ui using https://nas-ip-address/admin fails?
********Yes when I try to access the nas through web ui, it fails. I get the generic message "ReadyNAS Admin Page is offline"
Also, what firmware are you running on the NAS?
********I am running 6.10.8

Hello walkz187 ,
And welcome to the NETGEAR Community! 🙂
Once the backup is completed please try once with a factory reset of the NAS.
As you have mentioned you are able to see the NAS in RAIDar the issue is with the device,
Also, can you please tell me whether you have enabled SSH?
Please try with the different browsers and also check the browser compatibility once.
Have a lovely day,
Anisha A
