New owner readynas 102 help
Ok I'm totally lost and confused, I wonder if some kind soul would answer a few questions?
How on earth do I install transmission on it and add files to download?
I copied a couple of movies on there in the video folder, but it doesn't seem to display Mkv files on my ps3?
I only bought 1x3tb drive as my funds ran out, if I buy another one can I just slot it in and will it be a mirror of the first?
Thanks for any help!!

The Transmission App is available from the App section from the RN102 admin interface.
If you have not been to this page, it will take a few minutes to install the tools needed to get access to the available Apps.Adz wrote: I copied a couple of movies on there in the video folder, but it doesn't seem to display Mkv files on my ps3?
I have the same issue with my PS3, but I found that it was the limitation of the PS3 supported media.Adz wrote: I only bought 1x3tb drive as my funds ran out, if I buy another one can I just slot it in and will it be a mirror of the first?
If you keep it in XRAID (or RAID1), you can add the new drive (same size or larger) and it will mirror over to the new disk. - AdzAspirantso can anyone tell me where i can find transmission ? it doesnt show up in the genie app thing, but i have read that people have it working on the 104, which is identical to the 102 apart from having 4 bays instead of 2? so how do i find transmission for the 102 and how do i install it?
sorry for being such a newb :/ - StephenBGuru - Experienced UserIt not showing up in the app store. It can be manually installed though (https://www.readynas.com/forum/viewtopi ... 2&p=390362). Or you could wait a bit.

You have to turn on ReadyDLNA from System > Settings > Services.I only bought 1x3tb drive as my funds ran out, if I buy another one can I just slot it in and will it be a mirror of the first?
Yes, now you're in unprotected mode, so getting another one will make it redundant (protected).
Thanks - StephenBGuru - Experienced User
It's NOT in the app store for RN1xx, so don't go crazy if you've set up genie and it doesn't show up.Darth Vader wrote: Adz wrote: How on earth do I install transmission on it and add files to download?

transmission is only available for 312/314/316 x86-based box at this time. The arm-based version will be posted soon. - StephenBGuru - Experienced UserIt might be best to wait for the posting. Uninstalling, updating later on might be easier, esp. if you aren't an SSH type.
- AdzAspirantthanks for all the help guys, esp stephenb. managed to install some apps etc via ssh, however when i go to the apps page for installed apps it just hangs there forever, tried rebooting with no luck. im not having much luck as a new user and new customer to readynas.
