No access to admin webinterface and Management Service is Offline

We have a Ready NAS 204.

We cannot access the Web Interface after a power test of our tech-department.

The Raidar says: Management Service is Offline.

systemctl status readynasd says:

readynasd.service - ReadyNAS System Daemon
          Loaded: loaded (/lib/systemd/system/readynasd.service; enabled)
Active: inactive (dead) (Result: core-dump) since Fri, 19 Aug 2016 13:38:05 +0200; 3 days ago
         Process: 22514 ExecStart=/usr/sbin/readynasd -v 3 -t (code=dumped, signal=SEGV)
          Status: "Importing DB"
          CGroup: name=systemd:/system/readynasd.service

Segmentation fault (core dumped)

The Readynasd log says:

[16/08/19 12:37:29] 19293:19293 readynasd.c:992 () readynasd log started
[16/08/19 12:37:29] 19293:19293 context.c:177 (debug) NEW GLOBAL_CONTEXT: db.sq3=0x1fc9838
[16/08/19 12:37:29] 19293:19293 context.c:213 (debug) NEW GLOBAL_CONTEXT: event.sq3=0x1ff5560

[16/08/19 12:37:29] 19293:19293 readynasd.c:1164 () readynasd started. (restarted=0)

everything else works. (like the smb shares and ssh)

any suggestions?

  • It looks like a bug was hit when attempting to parse an invalid rsync config file.  Can you check the contents of /etc/frontview/rsync/Shares.conf?

    Which firmware are you running?

    # cat /etc/os_version

So this "power test" meant turning the power off triggering an unsafe shutdown?

Can you download the logs using RAIDar 6.1 and send them in (see the Sending Logs link in my sig)?

      It's ReadyNASOS!!version=6.5.1,time=1466115662,arch=arm,descr=ReadyNASOS

Yes, they were testing the emergency power generator and the power lines. So it was an unsafe shutdown.

Can you compress the core dump

        # lzma -9 /var/cores/core-readynasd

and send that to us as well?

So it has been working fine after you updated to 6.5.1 until the power to the system was cut?
