no access to nas using radar or via website

Reset the NAs to factory settings. Cab access the frontview on browser but it does not show shares or lists on the left hand side. I can change the password OK. Have tried using Radar (latest version downloaded) but it's not able to find the router on the network. It's there OK as Avast shows the NAs and IP number OK. I've tried all the suggestions available, any help appreciated. If this NAS is too ancient is it better to bin it and get a more up to date model?

If you are running Windows 10, then you need the SMB 1 client enabled in the PC.  You can enable that in "turn windows features on or off".

My own Duo is still in service as a backup NAS.  So it is possible to use it.  However, a new NAS would run more modern protocols (SMB 3 for instance), would have more features, more capacity, and would be lot faster.

RAIDar isn't designed to find your router, so I am confused.  Do you mean it's not able to find the NAS?  It's possible that you have internet security software that is blocking it.

      Thanks for the reply

      I'm using windows 7 pro

My mistake re router, should be NAS as you deducted.

I use Avast and I've tried switching that off as well, no luck.

Have also looked at teatures as well and tried it on a win10 pc just in case it was the win 7 pc that was the problem

Your point regarding buying a new one with enhanced features is looking better by the minute

It just seems a shame to ditch a reasonably useful bit of kit.

      Many thanks

Have you tried entering \\nas-ip-address in the File Explorer address bar?

Maybe also try posting a screenshot of what you do see in Frontview.

What size disks are you installing?
