NV+ hard drive tray screws replacement
I've just bought an extra HDD to add to my NV+ thats been working fine for a couple of years now. However I can't find the original pack of remaining screws that came with it for fixing the drive to the tray. The new drive is for tray 4 (right end).
Does anyone know the precise spec of screws I need? Looking at the tray they appear to be special recessed heads to sit flush with the metal tray, whereas so far I have only seen generic 3.5" mounting screws without a recessed head (e.g. http://www.maplin.co.uk/Search.aspx?criteria=A14BJ). I'm not sure these will fit past the other trays / side of bay, as it is quite tight for space in there.
Any advice, specs of screw so I can get locally (UK) appreciated.

Confirmed. All the trays use the same screws.wardie wrote: I'm assuming the drive trays (at least the screws) are the same - you can confirm? - essdAspirant

To the forum admins:
Is someone able to confirm the actual measurements of the screws? The OP suggested that the screws were 6-32 4mm pan head, but based on my observations, it looks like 6 mm may be the correct answer. Is there an official answer to this question?
I know that we can buy these screws from the moderators, but I don't know if I can wait that long and I'd like to try to source them locally instead.
Thanks!

Hi Chirpa,
Is this required?
So one has to label as to which disk was in Bay 1, Bay 2, etc.?
TIA! - chirpaLuminary

When removing disks, it is wise to keep them in the same order. - wdc77AspirantHi Chirpa,
Any luck with the UK office re. getting replacement screws - mine went missing during my house move so can't get my Duo going at all (I had to pull out the drive cause it failed after only a month *groan*)
Cheers - colindchapmanAspirantHi Chirpa,
I called Netgear's 1-866-252-9921 support number in an effort to order 4 hard drive tray screws, and the gentleman with whom I spoke was unable to help -- he recommended that I go to a local hardware store. Is there a way to order these screws straight from Netgear so that I'm certain I get the right parts? I'm in the US.
Thanks,
Colin - chirpaLuminary
Did you get a case number with them at all? If not, PM me what email address you have registered with NETGEAR, and I can probably look it up. Once I have a case number, we can call you to get credit card info for payment, $5.95, which basically covers shipping.colindchapman wrote: I called Netgear's 1-866-252-9921 support number in an effort to order 4 hard drive tray screws, and the gentleman with whom I spoke was unable to help -- he recommended that I go to a local hardware store. I corrected an issue with your product registration. It listed Country:Other, set that to USA, and it now shows the right option for the tech. I have asked the techs to give you a call back to setup the purchase.
Once that is complete, they will notify me and the screws will get shipped out. Too late today to ship, so they would go out on Monday instead.
