NV+ hard drive tray screws replacement
I've just bought an extra HDD to add to my NV+ thats been working fine for a couple of years now. However I can't find the original pack of remaining screws that came with it for fixing the drive to the tray. The new drive is for tray 4 (right end).
Does anyone know the precise spec of screws I need? Looking at the tray they appear to be special recessed heads to sit flush with the metal tray, whereas so far I have only seen generic 3.5" mounting screws without a recessed head (e.g. http://www.maplin.co.uk/Search.aspx?criteria=A14BJ). I'm not sure these will fit past the other trays / side of bay, as it is quite tight for space in there.
Any advice, specs of screw so I can get locally (UK) appreciated.

- slawsonbAspirantCan anyone tell me where I can buy these screws. I'm in the US.
Bruce - dbott67GuideBruce,
I believe that you can get these direct from Netgear for a nominal fee by calling support (# in my signature below).
Were the screws missing from the box or do you need extra?
The specs of the screws are as below, and should be able to order them from a specialty hardware store (or possibly a computer shop): - slawsonbAspirantThey were missing. I have searched high and low for these screws from many vendors but no luck. They are a very rare size. This is why I asked where they could be purchased.

You could also try sending a PM to chirpa or Dooku to see if they can locate some for you.
-Dave - jcutrone1AspirantI need to order some of these screws as well. My NV+ came with 2 drives and no spare screws for the 2 empty bays. :?
I just called support and they wanted a serial number for me to proceed, I'm not at home so I dont have it handy. The rep did say they sell the screws but she didn't sound too sure of herself.
I'll try them again tonight when I have the serial number of my device. - slawsonbAspirantI will try the support line when I get a chance. I usually try to avoid calling support because they are ineffective 99% of the time.
It would be great if someone could post a link to a source for these screws. - wyldbillAspirantActually, the fee for the screws is nominal, in fact nothing for a pack of 20, but the shipping is $19.90 This was the VERY BEST that the support people could offer me. This is via "Advanced Ground" (whatever that is) and seems a bit crazy when you can send via USPS, UPS or FEDEx for somewhere between $.50 and $7 (I'm in the continental US). I had to call multiple times over a month before they had any back in stock, as they couldn't simply call me when after they arrived. They're not in the Netgear store (WHY?!?!) where they could be simply ordered, shipped and backordered if necessary.
Netgear's (storage) service people are generally great, but their processes suck.
In general, getting the screws is a pain. Try not to misplace them in the first place. But if you're here (like me) you probably already have....
FWIW,
-bill - slawsonbAspirantI agree completely. They must be a very rare screw type if nobody has been able to find a third party supplier. I wonder why would netgear would choose such a strange screw in the first place.

Do you have a case number to reference this call? I used to offer this at $5.99 for shipping/handling before support took over sending them out. $20 for shipping is outrageous for a small packet of screws.wyldbill wrote: Actually, the fee for the screws is nominal, in fact nothing for a pack of 20, but the shipping is $19.90 This was the VERY BEST that the support people could offer me. - ZoosoupAspirantHi there,
I know this is a late reply and you have all probably found screws by now but here's a link where you can get them.
