NV+ stuck in Quota Check
Hi all,
New to this forum and of course with a problem. I have a NV+ with 3 discs, 2 Seagate ST31000322CS (came installed in the NAS) and 1 ST32000641AS (which I added 2 months ago). The problems started after installing the 2TB drive. There were times when the NAS would not show up on Finder or RAIDar. After a restart everything was fine again. Until yesterday. NAS was invisible again and would not respond to the power-button. I had to unplug the NAS to be able to shut it off and restart it. I don't know if that caused more damage, because now it is stuck in a Quota Check. It does a FileCheck, which it passes and then gets stuck at 13.4% in the quota check. The NAS shows up in RAIDar with all discs green. This happened twice, I have the NAS shutdown now. The first time it got stuck in the quota check, the #2 disk LED was blinking, the others were steady on. The 2nd time all lights of the disks were steady on.I have RAIDar 4-3-0. I hope somebody can help me, because I had the NAS setup in a RAID5 configuration in the hope that that was safe and silly enough I don't have a backup of the data on it. Thank you.

It looks like the HD you installed has 4K sector size, which is not compatible with the original HD (512 bytes sector) delivered with the NV+. May be this is creating a sync problem. The only way to use 4K sector disks is to backup the data you have and replace all the disks with new 4K sectors ones. In fact you have to create a brand new raid system. Make sure that you have the latest firmware.
Nam - Thank you. I will try this. But on the compatibility list it states that this HD can be used. And Netgear also states that you can mix types of HD as long as they are on the compatibility list. So I thought this would not be a problem.
