Private Time Machine not working on ReadyNas 102 - Sierra and Firmware 6.7.4
Hello,
I have moved to a new home and changed the router.
Everything worked fine since I have brought here my ReadyNas 102, connected via Ethernet to the router, and tried to backup my Mac again, also connected via Ethernet. It says "backup disk not avaible".
In TimeMachine preferences, my private time machine has a red mark saying "Impossible to complete the backup. Make sure it is connected or choose another on."
The ReadyNas has:
-a static IP,
-updated firmware,
-I can access perfectly via frontview,
-private time machine is enable,
-I can access via Finder to the folders.
-Oh, I can also see via Finder the timemachine sparsebundle, making the folder visible.
I have tried rebooting, repairing permissions via Onyx, what else can I do?
One thing I have noticed is that with the latest firmware it doesn't show me in Finder the different kind of connection, SMB or AFP, to connect to the NAS. It only shows me the name of the NAS and then connects. I don't know if It's relevant.
Thanks.
Mac OS Sierra 10.12.5
ReadyNAS 102 OS 6.7.4

If you specify afp:// in finder does that work?

No, in fact I discovered it connected via SMB.
I have kept only afp on as a service and didn't manage to connect, also via finder.

I don't own a Mac, but my understanding is that Time Machine needs AFP to be on. If the OSX system can't reach the NAS via AFP, I think you need to fix that first.
It might also help to turn on UPNP in the ReadyNAS.
