Raidar volume status
Hi. Looked eveywhere but i cannot find any documentation explaining the volunme status graphic. wouldnt have thought it would be that hard...but hey that's IT for you.
I had a drive fail. Theyre all 3tb drives. I stupidly put a 4tb in and tried to format it. Didnt work. I now hvae the correct 3tb but it wont format and I'm not liking the looks of the volume status. Can anyone tell me what thsi means and how to rectifiy it.

FWIW, you aren't showing RAIDar, you are showing the NAS web ui's volume status.
Can you tell us what firmware you are running (it's shown on the overview tab)?
I'm not sure how you got to this point, but if you need to preserve the data on the NAS then you should immediately use paid support (my.netgear.com). This is not something you should try to fix on your own.
If you have a full backup (or don't care about the data) then the simplest path is to use the "perform factory default" control on the settings tab. That will wipe everything, and you will need to
- set up the NAS again
- restore all the data from a backup.

Hello owen67,
If you are trying to format the disks and you do not care about the data stored to the volume or there is no data, you may factory reset the NAS. Factory reset will definitely format all the disks that are inserted to the NAS to the ReadyNAS file system format which will not only delete the current settings but will also wipe out all the data.
Here's an article of how to get to the boot menu:
How do I access the boot menu on my ReadyNAS 104, 204, 214, or 314?

Of course the perform factory default control on the settings menu does the same thing - and is a bit easier than messing with the boot menu.
